Everyone tries their best to be a good person — but sometimes…we let the little things get to us. It is just human nature. No one can be totally perfect all the time. Occasionally, even though we do not like to admit it to ourselves, we behave in a way that is a little less than ideal. At one point or another in all our lives, we have probably fallen victim to each of the seven sins. Let us refresh our memory. The seven deadly sins, if you will recall, are greed, lust, sloth, gluttony, pride, wrath, and envy. So, which one of these deadly sins most closely resembles the type of person you are? Are you the victim of envy, or the sleeping beauty that falls victim to the sin of sloth? Perhaps you let your temper get the best of you? Or maybe you are just a tad too prideful.

Before we get into the quiz, it’s always a good idea to have insight into the history of things. So, where do the deadly sins come from and why are there seven? The seven deadly sins as we are familiar with them today are probably the ones that were mentioned in the text of Dante’s Inferno and Canterbury Tales. It’s believed that many of these are based more on archetypes than they are based on some sort of religious text. Both books have heavy reference to Christian ideologies, however, The Bible never mentions the seven deadly sins a single time.

In other words, instead of being literal actions people take, the seven deadly sins seem to mostly describe seven types of people who are more prone to sin than others. It’s all in the actions. But the idea of the seven deadly sins can be traced back to points in time where these sins were associated with things like the planets and attitudes.

Perhaps the most interesting part is the universal appeal of the seven deadly sins. Because they are tied to human nature instead of some sort of specific religious text, then they are often relatable to people from all walks of life. All humans experience some degree of greed, lust, sloth, envy, pride, wrath, and gluttony.

Now that you’ve all been caught up, are you ready to take the plunge? Remember to answer every question as truthfully as possible to get your accurate sin. Find out if you dare…what deadly sin you are.
