Everyone’s sexual education experience is different. Some people have a whole course in high school dedicated to teaching you the biological birds and the bees. Other people learn as they go, grabbing facts on the fly and educating themselves with personal experience. Maybe that experience didn’t even happen in high school! Who knows? Either way, one would hope that you got to your 18th birthday with some sexual facts in place that would allow you to go forth and have a healthy, well informed sex life.
So, where do you stand on this spectrum of sexpert to novice? It doesn’t matter how great you think you or how great your partner thinks you are, do you actually know what you’re talking about? If you want to know if that bump is herpes or an ingrown hair, ask your doctor. The rest of your sex questions (allegedly) should have been covered in your high school sex ed class. If not, may the odds be ever in your favor. Grab your condoms and let’s get going. It’s time to talk about sex!
