Every year since social media has existed, people have made spectacular fools of themselves by sharing things they shouldn’t. Now that Instagram and YouTube have evolved into money-making behemoths, we no longer call these “that time Uncle Harry was a total idiot”, and now we call them “Controversial influencer scandals”. These are those moments that the rich and famous (or just the people who take pretty pictures and post them with inspiring quotes) make absolutely horrible decisions and share it with thousands upon thousands of followers.
These gaffes span the gamut: sometimes they’re nothing more than eating fish when you say that you’re a vegetarian. But at other times these celebrity influencers manage to create a scandal so truly scandalous, and honestly so bad that it’s astounding they have any followers afterward.
We’re talking Logan Paul in the suicide forest. We’re talking the college admissions scandal. We’re talking about half of the things that PewDiePie has ever done in his lifetime.
If you consider yourself well-connected or think that you know what’s happening in the world of social media, then this is the quiz for you: it’s not just whether or not you know about the scandals, it’s going one step further. Can you name the celebrity influencer at the heart of each scandal? Sure, you might know that there was a guy and his wife who got kicked off of YouTube for destroying their children’s belongings and laughing when the kids cried, but can you name him?
Yes, that is the DaddyoFive scandal, and yes you should probably know that one.
So if you think that you’re ready to tackle the world of influencers and all the mistakes they make, this quiz is for you. Let’s find out how well you know these celebrity influencer scandals.
